At the Saturday Gardening Discussion Group we are a friendly group of gardening enthusiasts who share a deep love of horticulture. From March to November, we meet most Saturdays to exchange ideas, celebrate our successes, and reflect on our setbacks - all in the spirit of learning and growing together.
Our discussions cover a wide range of topics, from soil health and propagation techniques to seasonal planting and pest control. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, you'll find a warm welcome and a wealth of shared experience.
Together, we aim to improve our knowledge, refine our skills, and enjoy the journey of gardening - one plant at a time.
Showcasing our favourite plants - We bring along plants of special interest depending on the time of year and members are encouraged to bring along their plants for discussion.
We believe gardening is best learned together - in a warm, inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to participate. Whether you're a seasoned grower or just beginning your journey, there's no need to feel uncertain or hold back. Here, curiosity is celebrated, questions are welcomed, and every member contributes to our collective growth, after all, we’re all learning.
We often distribute plants, bulbs etc. to be grown on and brought back at a later date for comparison. This shared experience allows us to explore different growing conditions, techniques, and outcomes - learning from each other’s successes and challenges.
Meetings commence at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break somewhere in the middle for tea and biscuits. Visitors are welcome.
